How I Engage

Assessments

I work with clients to help them understand how to improve their supply chain performance.

  • What does “good” look like for your business?

  • What’s holding you back?

  • What’s the value in getting there?

  • What will it take to suceed?

These are not big time-consuming, people-intensive projects. Short (week to month), high level assessments to help leaders identify critical missing pieces and build confidence about moving forward down a selected strategy or initiative.

Visibility

For many companies, supply chain technology and data analytics capabilities are weak. Leaders know they need visibility but they can’t get tech support. Internal resources are tapped out and the wait list is years long. The missing pieces are technology capabilities. They need a capable, affordable technology partner.

I utilize my network to make appropriate, no-obligation introductions to selected technology providers to create win/win solutions. These are cloud based subscription services with rapid paybacks where benefits often occur within 2 to 6 months.

Current areas of focus (see Current Research page for more detail):

  • eComm Order Flow Data Analytics

  • Data Integration with Visualization and Execution Application

This engagement usually begins when discussing a particular pain point or vision. It gains traction when realizing it can be solved by integrating and applying specific data to the work flow. Initial benefits result from quickly isolating problems and their remedies. Huge longer term benefits arise when decision rules are implemented to automate the workflow.

Teaching

I love sharing my experience, in any way that works best, from individual tutoring to facilitating workshops. Recent engagements include:

  • Supply chain management tutorial. A multi-week one-on-one virtual conversation (1 per week) covering the fundamentals of supply chain management. Designed to on-board professionals into new Supply Chain roles.

  • Fundamentals of Manufacturing Planning and Control. Starting with an overview of current state processes, the course then moves into reviewing MPC fundamentals, master scheduling, raw material planning, and how to determine safety stock. Designed for operations lacking consistent practices.
